The annual accounts of the National Lottery Fund are prepared on a receipts and payments basis, and report on all amounts received into and paid out of the Fund during the calendar year.

The annual accounts of the National Lottery Fund are prepared by the Regulator. They record the total amount transferred in the calendar year from the Fund to the Central Exchequer in respect of good causes amounts  (presented as “Transferred to the Central Fund”). The annual accounts are audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General and submitted to the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform.  They are available here.

The annual accounts of the private company operating the National Lottery, which are the responsibility of the directors of the company, disclose the amount raised (accrued) for good causes from the sales of National Lottery tickets in the calendar year.  The amounts earned for good causes in each financial year since the commencement of the Licence are available here.

In her role as manager and controller of the Fund, the Regulator monitors amounts reported by the Operator and ensures these are consistent with amounts reported in the Fund.
